The best information I have found and extensively used to clean my telescope's optics and eye pieces, comes from Dr. Clay of the Arkansas Sky Observatory.

To obtain the best results from the images your cameras have captured is to perform Image Calibration of them.

Telescope Optics must be precisely aligned to generate fine photos. This process is called Collimation.
